ABOUT THE DASHBOARD

The Newaygo County Area Dashboard was created from the West Michigan Regional Dashboard: a collaboration by nine West Michigan organizations to establish a common set of indicators by which to measure the region's overall growth and prosperity.

The dashboard is divided into three major categories: economic, social, and environmental. By selecting a single indicator within one of the three categories, you can further analyze that indicator, comparing it to regional, state, and national averages. GREEN indicators have improved year over year, while YELLOW or RED indicators reflect no change or a negative trend.

Why is it important?

Prior to the dashboard's creation, the region lacked a common set of measurements by which to measure its growth and prosperity. While valuable data was available within the region, a common set of shared metrics for the entire region is needed. A coordinated measurement tool empowers communities in the region to begin strategic change and build collective action. The Newaygo County Area Dashboard gives us an even closer look at these indicators in our local community.
